Start-up Deliverect raises 3 million euros
GHENT/AMSTERDAM, April 2, 2019 – Deliverect, the start-up that simplifies the online
delivery process for restaurants, today announced it has received 3 million euros in
funding from Newion Investments and Smartfin.
Deliverect is a fast growing SaaS company that connects third-party online delivery platforms such as Ubereats, Takeaway.com and Foodora to the point of sale (POS) systems of restaurants. Deliverect simplifies the process of managing online orders, bringing far greater efficiency for restaurants that also provide online food delivery.
Using Deliverect, online orders are processed directly in the POS system and can be managed from one place. This avoids the need to re-key orders to produce customer receipts, so workload and errors are reduced. The software helps restaurant owners to keep track of online orders, to manage stock, and can provide real-time reports of online sales. Restaurants using Deliverect can change their different online menus from a single interface, and additional delivery channels can be added easily.
In November 2018 Deliverect, supported through the imec.istart accelerator program, won the innovation award at Horeca Expo (Belgium). In January 2019 the company was the overall winner at Horecava (the Netherlands). Both prizes recognised Deliverect’s solution for a problem that is becoming more present in the hospitality industry, due to the rapidly growing online delivery market. Founders Zhong Xu and Jan Hollez were personally aware of the issue as they have been working in software development for the hospitality industry for years. “Restaurant owners were struggling to manage their online delivery platforms and we wanted to help them”, says Jan Hollez, CTO and Co-Founder Deliverect.
Customers including Goiko Grill (Spain), Lucy Chang (Belgium), Absurd Bird (UK) and Keatz (delivery-only restaurants in Europe), have reported significant improvements in operations and profits since the implementation of Deliverect. The software’s speed and ease of use have received particular praise.
Zhong Xu, CEO and Co-Founder of Deliverect: “We will use a substantial part of the new funding to grow our international team. We are looking forward to attract ambitious, entrepreneurial developers and the best marketing & sales people to meet the global demand for our solution.”
Deliverect has founded integration partnerships through APIs with both delivery platforms and POS systems. Among the Deliverect business partners are UberEats, Takeaway.com, Foodora, DeliveryHero, Deliveroo, Glovo and JustEat. The Deliverect solution connects with the POS systems Lightspeed and Gastrofix. Further partnerships are planned.
“The central management of online restaurant ordering platforms is a worldwide trend and Deliverect is the company to make this happen” says Mathijs de Wit, Partner at Newion Investments.
Thomas Depuydt of SmartFin: “In addition we see that delivery-only restaurants, the so-called “dark kitchens”, cannot be competitive without the Deliverect solution.”
